DIN

The German standards

The DIN standards are formulated by the Deutsches Institut für Normung [German Institute for Industrial Standardisation]. Under the supervision of a DIN working committee, consistent standards are defined for both material and immaterial objects. DIN standards are German standards, comparable with the international recognised ISO and the European EN standards. DIN standards are created in response to suggestions, or result from the initiative of an interested group. The findings of science, technology and experience constitute the basis of these standards which serve the interests of the public at large. The complete listing of DIN standards is referred to as the Deutsches Normenwerk or German Code of Industrial Standards.
